About Us

Bushey Farms is a 6th generation cash crop farm located on the shores of Saginaw Bay near Caseville Michigan. Our farm produces corn for silage, alfalfa for haylage, sugar beets, dry edible beans, and white winter wheat.  We utilize the latest farm equipment  along with the most efficient managemnt practices to produce high quality crops in a sustainable manner.

The passion of agriculture runs deep in the Bushey family. It started with Alexander Boucher (spelling later changed to Bushey) and continues with his great grandson, T.L. and his sons, Jed and Jake. In 1855 Alexander was born in St. Joseph, Ontario, Canada. He married Angeline Leneway and was deeded 80 acres in Chandler Township near Caseville in 1894. Alexander’s son, Triefly continued the farming operation by purchasing additional land in Chandler Township. During the 1960’s, 70’s, and 80’s, Louis and Maurice, sons of Triefly, continued to expand the family farm by renting and purchasing additional acreage. Today, T.L. (Louis’ son) along with his sons, Jed and Jake, own and operate Bushey Farms. Like the generations before them, they are always looking to gain acreage and add value to their operation as opportunities are presented.
